Business Excellence Assessment

We have created a brand new assessment. The Delos Assessment, which is based upon experience of working with many companies and covers all aspects of your business, is designed to determine how companies are performing against key criteria. This has been updated to include all of the latest thinking in this area, and now covers how to handle the "Extended Supply Chain" and different organisation environments.

It uses the structure of the Delos Model to support this analysis. As one client put it "I have never seen such a complete approach to this assessment".

It has been developed by building on many other similar assessment regimes, like various Class "A" assessments, EFQM [European Foundation for Quality Management], "20 keys", and the Baldridge Award. It is structured in such a way to assess the effectiveness of people, processes and technology with the objective of identifying ways in which the business can rapidly improve its effectiveness.

Normally the assessment is carried out in the business over two to four days by two partners on one site, and a written report with recommendations will be provided within 48 hours. This will provide a costed deliverable action plan for the short and long-term, identifying both "quick wins" and long-term gains. Companies following programmes built around the Delos Assessment can reduce inventory by 30-50 %, double profit margins, and dramatically improve their Return on Investment.

We believe it is the most comprehensive assessment of it's type, and it will provide an aspirational long-term programme of action, which will deliver real bottom line results. Already one company has deliverd 20 % reduction in inventory and improved customer service from 93 % to 98 % - and they have not even yet achieved Platinum standard. They have also used the programme to communicate the Vision and the Strategy through to the Shop Floor.

Sales and Operations Planning assessment

We have developed a simple assessment of a company's Sales and Operations planning process - how it turns it's strategic aims and objectives into plans that are managed through to execution on a monthly/weekly basis. We call it Integrated Enterprise Leadership.

Companies that have successfully implemented this process have seen phenomenal growth in profitability and customer service. If you do not have the philosophy and process in place, it can require a huge change in processes, systems and culture to ensure that the business has one set of numbers and plans, to which the whole company operates, and delivers against. It is about creating one direction, one team and one set of numbers.

You can download a spreadsheet here, and then mark your company against the dimensions contained in the worksheet -

  • Vision and Strategy
  • Processes
  • Systems and Data
  • Culture
  • Relationships
  • Measures
  • Education

If you then want to find out more about how to improve your performance, then do look at our Public Education course on Integrated Enterprise Leadership.
