Simulations

We can run a number of simulations, which facilitate interactive learning of some of the concepts contained within our public courses or tailored workshops. These can either be run as standalone events, or alternatively as an integral part of a workshop which containcs "theory" and "practice".

Supply Chain Simulation

This simulation allows participants to experience how a supply chain works from a factory, through distribution centres, and out to various far-flung markets. Hence is is highly appropriate for companies with a global supply chain.

By running the business simulation through a number of weekly cycles, delegates see how the interaction of lead times, capacity constraints, and varying customer demand contribute to problems with customer cervice and inventory Levels. In particular the simulation illustrates the need for a sales forecast, and how to reduce Inventory all along a complex supply chain, by reducing lead times, reducing batch quantities, and restructuring the supply chain.

Lean Manufacturing Simulation

This simulation establishes a simple manufacturing process, using the medium of paper being guillotined and stapled into various products. It enables delegates quickly to understand how to apply lean principles in order to improve customer response, and reduce lead times. The simulation can then be used to see how their suggestions can improve the service to customers, reduce inventory and improve stability of the supply chain.

Techniques such as TPM, 5 "S", and Heijunka scheduling can be easily illustrated.
