Robert’s competencies span the end to end supply chain, from sourcing raw castings in low cost Asian economies, to delivering after sales services and spare parts to sophisticated Customer sectors. He has held senior management roles in Supply Chain Management for blue chip organisations for over 25 years. These roles have spanned industries manufacturing and servicing aerospace structures, centrifugal pumps, control valves in oil & gas, scientific instruments, mobile cranes, diesel engines, fast moving consumer goods, printing and strategic and practical hands on support in rail industry fleet operations.
Robert is a practical manager who is equally at home planning a strategic operations’ support strategy, helping staff work through the various conflicting priorities of a busy procurement department. He has found that keeping solutions simple will create and maintain sustainable improvements in the performance of individuals, teams and ultimately the whole enterprise.
Computerised systems have always been at the centre of the change management processes implemented by Robert. He has utilised and built on his early exposure to focus and resolve problems involving data and system issues, whilst coaching and developing people to understand and ultimately trust the “formal system” to reach Class “A
Robert is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.
